What's On This Week

One of the great perks of living next to one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world is the opportunity to dine beachside, and bask in some incredible sunsets. We've put together a list of 5 recommendations of beachside restaurants in Dubai to enjoy incredible food in a beautiful setting.

Twiggy by La Cantine

Our first recommendation is a stunning beach club and restaurant that takes inspiration from the chic, playful days of the French Riviera in the 60s.  Located at the Park Hyatt, Port Saeed, Twiggy is a super-cool, elegant spot with a 100-metre infinity pool that leads straight onto the creek. Surrounding the pool is golden sand, beds, cabanas and loungers to relax on throughout the day. If you want to stay by the water, there is a relaxed poolside menu of small plates and light bites, including sushi and poke bowls. On a mezzanine overlooking the creek is the main restaurant, inspired by Mediterranean flavours and using fresh ingredients. The dishes are light and fresh but packed with flavour and best enjoyed overlooking an incredible sunset over the creek. Twiggy is a beautiful, classic waterside restaurant that seamlessly transitions from a relaxed daytime ambience to a playful atmosphere in the evening.

Shimmers

Crossing the Med to Greece for our next recommendation, Shimmers is a Greek style beachside restaurant with a scenic view and a showstopping menu. Right on the beach at Jumeirah Mina A’Salam, Shimmers is a blue and white oasis of breezy, beachside calm, with tables and comfy seating on a shaded wooden deck, that leads down to tables positioned on the white sand beach for ultimate ocean-side dining. The menu incorporates Greek classics with modern dining, with light bites including calamari, halloumi, and octopus, to more decadent plates like octopus carpaccio, lobster orzo and Black Angus steak. Shimmers is a scenic, beachside hotspot with an exceptional menu and a relaxed, breezy vibe.

Myrra

Sticking to the Greek theme, Myrra is a fusion restaurant of Greek and Spanish flavours that favours a rustic chic ambience. Located at Club Vista Mare, Palm Jumeirah, Myrra is restaurant that takes you on a tour of the Spanish and Greek Islands with stunning menu options like the Kataifi Wrapped Feta Cheese and the Grilled Seabass. The drinks menu is just as tempting with ice cold, fruity cocktails, and classic beverages to cool off beachside. Myrra is adorned with striped parasols and rustic rattan furniture that gives a relaxed, holiday atmosphere. With stunning views of the Arabian Gulf, Myrra quickly whisks you away to the tastes of the Med.

Ula

Next up on our recommended beachside restaurants list is Ula, located right on the sand at Palm Jumeirah. Ula is a relaxed, rustic sanctuary with ratan ceilings, wooden tables and plush linen seating. At the centre of the circular dining area is a vast bar built around a tree, capturing the earthy, natural vibe of Ula. Enjoy Ula’s menu all day, with breakfast, a la carte and cocktail options, the cuisine ranges from steaks to seafood, with tapas, maki, gyros and salads. They also feature a specific pool and beach menu that includes pizzas and breads, tapas, salads, gyros and maki. Ula is a luxury, relaxing oasis right on the beach that’s perfect for a sunset meal.

SĀN Beach

Our final recommendation is SĀN Beach, describing themselves as a soul retreat, beach destination and culinary experience, SĀN is all about community vibes and exceptional dining. The interior is minimalist and arty, with large plaster walls, curated lighting, and concept seating. The centre of the restaurant is surrounded by plants to add to the relaxing, natural energy of the venue. Adjacent to the restaurant is the beach cub, with white loungers, large wooden tables and cosy booths leading down to the ocean, and an architectural pool and a sunken bar that makes you feel like you’re in an art gallery. The food at SĀN is as innovative as the space, with an international menu that covers breakfast to sundowners. SĀN Bach is chic, artistic and a sanctuary within the buzz of the city.
